How can i get this highly performant Side-nav ui-element to work in a react Progressive web app?

TRY This: Visit Material-UI (http://www.material-ui.com/#/) using a mobile device and open the Side Nav Bar and then swipe to close it. Then visit Side Nav (https://googlechrome.github.io/ui-element-samples/side-nav/) on a mobile device and try the same thing. Notice the performance difference. How can i get this Side Nav bar to work in React Progressive Web app? I have tried various other library of ui-elements but none have performed as well as the Side Nav above.
